what is clearly presented in the above chart is the different numbers of urban residents and rural population among 1990,2000 and number of urban residents climbed steadily from 300 million in 1990 to 660 million or so in 2010,while rural population decreased slightly from about 820 million to 680 million or so in the same period.
it is not difficult to come up with some possible factors accounting for this trend. on the one hand, with the rapid development of economy and society, people in mounting numbers crowd into cities in search of employment, a decent living and the excitement of urban life recently. on the other hand, the economy in the rural districts is comparative less developed and thus the opportunity to make money and pursue their future is as well lean. as a result, an increasing number of folks are trying to escape this destiny by flocking into the urban areas.
given the analyses above, i firmly believe that such established trend will surely continue for quite a while in the forthcoming years and due importance should be attached to this evident situation.

dear john,
i am li ming who will go to study in your university and live together with you in one department. now i am writing this letter to tell you some of my habits and ask you for some suggestions to adapt myself there.
to begin with, i usually get up early in the morning at six osquo;clock and then go out to do some exercise. to continue, i would like to spend my spare time in reading in the library. meanwhile, i wonder if you could be so kind to offer me some proposals on how to get used to the life there.
i am looking forward to seeing you soon and wish everything goes well.
yours sincerely,

a habit is any action that we have performed so often that it becomes almost an involuntary response people spend countless hours and dollars each year attempting to break these bad habits and often do not have any success change is hard work and there is no short cut to achieving it to effect a change in habits, one needs to bring the action back into the realm of consciousness and regain the ability to make choices in other words, what's the payoff for doing this seemingly negative thing? since you've already classified this as a _bad_ habit you may be tempted to say there isn't one there is always a payoff what's in it for you? you let off some steam and feel a little better for the moment what is it that you are losing by exercising your habit? this step should be easier yelling at your kids is a bad habit because it leaves everybody feeling tense and tears down your children's self-esteem leaving the dishes undone is a bad habit because your kitchen is a smelly mess when you look at it that way it doesn't seem like you are making very wise choices, does it? there has to be a better way it's no longer an involuntary act because now you know that you are making a choice every time you perform this action which do you value more? do you value more the relief you get by yelling at your kids or do you value their emotional well-being? do you value more having more internet time or having a pleasant place to live?
substituting better behaviors.
the whole reason you formed your habits in the first place is that they filled a need as you break the old patterns you still need a way to fulfill these needs instead of yelling at your kids you might decide to go for a run every time you are feeling tense what the new habit is that you substitute isn't so important as whether you feel good about the choices you have made
it's up to you each time you begin to resume your old patterns the thought will pass through your mind that you are trading x for y each time you perform that action what choices will you make? the one that makes you feel bad about yourself or the one that makes you feel good? it's up to you.

dear jack:
thanks for your congratulation! since you asked for advice on translation, i’d like to offer several conducive proposals as follows.
first of all, while quite a number of students think they’re forced to learn translation——merely for english test, you should learn it for some other purposes like the usefulness other than examination itself. what is more, for purpose of becoming an outstanding translator, it is vital to not only appreciate the beauty and perfection of the language and literature in both english and chinese, but also arouse your great interest in exploring something deeper in this field.
i’m sure you’ll be an excellent translator. looking forward to your reply!

This is a health literacy chart of Chinese residents from 2012 to 2021. Specifically, one can see that health literacy in 2012, with , is growing year by year, at in 2021.
Obviously, there are two reasons to prompt the level. For one thing, the common sense of healthy knowledge is captured by most of people, from youth to the elderly, by virtue of the popular publication of non-profit healthy lectures, TV program on state-run media involving TV. For another, most of Chinese people, with higher education and high salary, have an awareness of avoiding unhealthy diet behaviors, such as refusing undue roast food, controlling excessive sugar-intake.
It is natural for most of Chinese to continue to improve the recognition of health. Even as a young college student, we should pay more attention to learning basic healthy knowledge, developing healthy behavior.

when people succeed, it is because of hard work, but luck has a lot to do with it,too. success without some luck is almost impossible. the french emperor napoleon said of one of his generals, “i know he’s good. but is he lucky?” napoleon knew that all the hard work and talent in the world can’t make up for bad luck. however, hard work can invite good luck.
when it comes to success, luck can mean being in the right place to meet someone, or having the right skills to get a job done. it might mean turning down an offer and then having a better offer come along. nothing can replace hard work, but working hard also means you’re preparing yourself opportunity. opportunity very often depends on luck.
how many of the great inventions and discoveries came about through a lucky mistake or a lucky chance? one of the biggest lucky mistakes in history is columbus’ so-called discovery of america. he enriched his sponsors and changed history, but he was really looking for india. however, columbus’ chance discovery wasn’t pure luck. it was backed up by years of studying and calculating. he worked hard to prove his theory that the world was round.
success that comes from pure luck and no hard work can be a real problem. for example, consider a teenage girl who becomes a movie star.
imagine she’s been picked from nowhere because of her looks. she is going to feel very insecure, because she knows she didn’t do anything to earn her stardom. on the other hand, think about an actress who’s spend years learning and working at her craft. when she finally has good luck and becomes a success, she will handle stardom better, she knows she earns it.

as is vividly depicted in the picture, in the first picture there are a lot of books besides a boy, but he doesn’t read any of them. by contrast, the second one portrays that another boy makes a plan of reading: 20 books one year. in fact, the phenomenon in the picture doesn’t surprise us at all. simple as it is, the intended meaning of the picture is worth our reflecting.
undoubtedly, the cartoonist aims at reminding us of the significance of reading and knowledge . at the top of the list, we should attach importance to reading mainly due to that it can enable us to ameliorate ourselves so we can be qualified for future career promotion, and be ready for meeting the forthcoming ’s more, we ought to place a high value on the role played by knowledge in personal growth. put it another way, in this ever-changing world, knowledge accumulation is to personal growth what water is to fish. to sum up, if reading and knowledge miss our attention in any possible way, we will suffer a great loss beyond imagination.
hence, it is vital for us to derive positive implications from the above picture. for one thing, we should frequently use it to enlighten the young. for another, we should cultivate the awareness of teenagers that reading is very vital. only by doing so, can we become winner in the face of difficulties.

this line chart presents the trend of number of museums and number of people visiting museums from 2013 to 2015. from the chart, it is obvious to find out that the number of museums from 2013 to 2015 presents a trend of decrease and the number of people visiting museums from 2013 to 2015 also presents a trend of increase.
it is quite clear for us to the conclusion that the reason for this phenomenon can be attributed to the development of economy. as far as i am concerned, influences on the number of museums and number of people visiting museums by economic development mainly display in the following aspects. first and foremost, economic development results in more income for people, which in turn allows people afford the payment to visit museums. moreover, economic development makes museums more persified and more abundant in quantity, which can satisfy persified preference of people. finally, economic development makes government invest more on public museums, and thus make us have more chances to visit museums.
from my perspective, we should maintain the positive side of museums, and try to eliminate its negative side. therefore, it can provide more positive influence on our daily lives.

a group of friends, boys or girls, are having a dinner party while each one of them is checking messages in their mobile phones without saying a word to one another, leaving the dishes are informed that this is a gathering in the era of mobile phone.
the above picture unveils a common social phenomenon and the symbolic meaning of the photo is the effect of the mobile phone on people’s way of life. undoubtedly, the phone provides us with considerable convenience, making many things possible which are beyond our dreams. as a communication tool, the phone makes us closer than ever before by providing immediate communication. meanwhile, there are negative effects on our personal life. as is shown in the picture, people are imprisoned in their own world! they choose contacting online rather than communicating face to face.
accordingly, enjoying the convenience provided by the phones, we should bear in mind that human beings are social beings who need real interpersonal interactions! joint efforts are needed to ensure people to have face-to-face communication! i believe a harmonious relationship between friends is awaiting us if we set aside our mobile phones and enjoy the untouched meal!
i think being very close to a pet can be both a positive and a negative thing. healthprofessionals have concluded that having a pet is very healthy for everyone. people who haveheart disease or similar health problems are often urged to get a pet because it can lower yourblood pressure. however, some people get anxious about their pets. if you always worry aboutthe pet getting lost or not getting the right food to eat, then that isn’t healthy for you .
many pets are very loving and it’s easy to love them back. some people, though, go treat their pets like one of the family. sometimes they even set a place for them at thetable or give them their own rooms in the house. they treat them as if they were pets are, in fact, substitutes for children. people need to keep their perspective abouttheir pets. dressing a pet up in clothes like a child is not emotionally healthy. pets are animalsand get confused if you expect them to act like human beings.
there are now stores devoted entirely to pets. they sell pet food, pet toys, pet clothes, pethomes. pets should be given appropriate food, and they should have a few toys, since theyneed some enjoyment just like humans do. however, some pet owners spend hundreds ofdollars on supplies for their pets. there are children in the world who don’t have clothes or foodor toys. it would be better to give some of that money to charity.
feeling close to your pet can be very satisfying and healthy, as long as you don’t overdo it.

it is often said that smartphones have made our lives easier. thanks to these handy devices, we can take our work with us anywhere. however, this isn’t necessarily a good thing.
a recent survey found that two-thirds of office workers continued to work on their smartphones outside office hours. these so-called “screen slaves” are glued to their smartphones on the way home and at home. this can lead to health problems. for example, using a smartphone on the train or sofa can cause back and neck pain. what’s more, looking at a small screen for a long time can cause vision problems.
in taiwan, there was even a man who lost the use of his index finger because he played games on his smartphone for up to six hours a day. people who use their smartphones too often also complain of headaches, increased stress, and losing sleep at night. so perhaps we need to learn to be less dependent on our smartphones, and put them down once in a while.

the column chart clearly reveals the statistics of students taking part-time jobs in a certain university. according to the survey, there has been a steady increase from to for students holding temporary jobs from freshmen to juniors, while the percentage of seniors working part-time jumped markedly to .
while part-time employment does have the potential to negatively affect a college studentsquo;s studies, it can also be a force for good in their academic careers. the most obvious way that having a part-time job can adversely affect studentssquo;studies is by becoming a drain on the their time. another way that part time employment can be detrimental to students is by reducing the perceived incentive to study. despite presenting certain pitfalls, working part-time during onesquo;s college years also offer several potential benefits. for one, it can help students to better understand their preferences or to test out a possible career direction. additionally, companies seeking to recruit recent grads will give preference to those with real-world experience.
in the end, the impact of a part-time job on studentsquo;s academic career depends on the studentsquo;s ability to maintain focus and balance his or her own time. if students are able to effectively manage their time and secure a part-time position in a field related to their studies or interests, the job is certain to yield a positive impact.

dear mr. president,
i am an undergraduate student majoring in religious taoism in the department of religious studies of our university. the purpose of my letter is to propose several conducive suggestions regarding how to improve studentssquo; physical health.
above all, it is necessary for college students to choose jogging, playing basketball, swimming, skating, climbing or riding as their regular exercises in that exercise never fail to make us stronger and more energetic. what is more, since a balanced diet and sufficient sleep are both indispensable to physical fitness, university students should put great emphasis on good habits.
